A holiday is not just the time that you actually spend away on vacation. It is a three-step process. There is a before, a during and a post holiday process that will need to be followed. The purpose of this article is to share with you the three steps and what is involved – the pre trip planning, making sure you enjoy your trip safely and your post trip return. Below I have outlined what is involved in each step.
Pre-trip planning and organising. Obviously you need to organise everything before you go. You need to organise your holiday, you need to organise your travel insurance and you need to organise somebody to look after your house and pets whilst you are away. You also need to get any vaccinations that you may need
Safety and enjoyment during your trip Obviously, you want to enjoy your trip. You want to make sure that you do it safely. You need to know what local rules and laws are, you need to be vigilant about your personal belongings and you need to know if there are certain areas in cities that you shouldn’t be travelling to.
Post trip return. You need to get back in to the swing of things after your holiday. Unfortunately, after your holiday you may be suffering from jetlag. You need to do everything you can to as quickly as possible acclimatise with your home time zone. You should also write thank you notes for those that you have asked to look after your house and make sure there isn’t anything that you have missed whilst you were away.
If you remember that your holiday is a three-step process, then you are more likely to get everything done right. If you get everything done right then your holiday is likely to be less stressful. If your holiday is less stressful you will have more fun and be more relaxed and refreshed.
